112628 has a defect – she can’t quite process everything spoken to her correctly and she had done her best to hide it from the System. But after accidentally revealing the truth, she was ejected into the wilderness. Shortly after, she met a kind, cheerful Outcast by the name of Leslie and they quickly welcomed her into the city of Illagu.
After naming herself Dax, she joined the Illagwen military at the suggestion of her new roommate Ramona – who also happens to be Leslie’s best friend. Meanwhile, she did her best to hide her defect from new friends and colleagues. So far… she’s been succesful.
However, due to this condition of hers, it took her a bit of time to find out Leslie was the director of an organization known as the Strokes; an organization whose main objective is to free the people currently in the System. Little by little, Leslie and Dax grew closer until…
The arrival of 216894. As another System ejection or, as Outcasts would call him, a former byte, Dax swiftly befriended him. However, Leslie’s seemingly instant loathing of Dax’s new friend created a rift between them. Even Ramona didn’t understand what Leslie disliked about him.
Then came the night of Dax’s Outcast anniversary party. While Ramona and Dax were gathering supplies for the celebration, 216894 attacked Leslie in their own home. Dax raced in and saved Leslie’s life by killing 216894.
…Or so it seemed. Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that 216894 was a System machine all along.
